short bit of zither music as they progress halfway up the aisle.

STAGEHANDS ENTER
they bring out the landscape/sunset gag, and get in place during this short bit of zither music that sounds similar to the first.

SLEEP
german vocalist singing braham’s lullaby as the scholars fall asleep.

PRAYERS-TO-MURDER
female vocalist sings a snatch of “evening prayer” song from “hansel and gretel.
as it reaches crescendo, it turns chaotic to accompany the slaughter.
vocalist comes back in at end as butcher and wife congratulate each other

NICHOLAS ENTERS
medieval sounding music as nicholas and priest come halfway up the aisle toward stage area.

DOORKNOCK
three knocks to simulate knocking on door of butcher inn

MIRACLE
angelic music w/ “allelujia” to accompany resurrection of the scholars.

EXIT MUSIC
“Silent Night” to accompany Nicholas’ wishes for a happy Xmas as he exits with priest.
