LA Krampus run participants follow guidelines of performance and behavior that have worked in Europe for decades, and in some cases, centuries, striving for fearsome appearance while maintaining a restrained level of physical contact with a careful eye toward onlooker response.  Guided by a template of contemporary European practice, the LA Krampus reserves special care in his effect on children, and there is (contrary to the mythology) nothing punitive or aggressive in Krampus’ actual interaction with any youngsters present.

The Krampus Run is intended primarily as a cross-cultural exploration and form of street theater for adult audiences open to the unexpected.

Participation as a member of the Krampus Los Angeles Performance Troupe is open but by prior arrangement only.
